A Pair of Chinese Famille Rose ‘Dragon’ Bottle Vases, Qianlong Mark.
A pair of Chinese porcelain bottle vases of globular form with tall, slender cylindrical necks, each raised on a short circular foot.
The bodies are decorated in famille rose enamels with sinuous green dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls, their scaled bodies coiling dynamically across the surface. The dragons are set amidst stylised flames and multicoloured cloud scrolls in tones of pink, yellow, blue, and turquoise, all reserved against a white ground.
The shoulders and necks are further adorned with bands of geometric and cloud motifs, including a honeycomb-style diaper pattern near the rim and stylised lappet borders above the foot.
The bases bear underglaze blue six-character marks within recessed panels.
