Description
A Neo-Assyrian / Neo-Babylonian Style Agate Cylinder Seal, Possibly Circa 800–600 B.C..
A carved agate cylinder seal of elongated form, finely engraved with a continuous frieze depicting standing deities and attendants in profile, rendered in raised relief. The central composition features a winged figure flanked by worshippers beneath stylised celestial symbols, including rosettes and astral motifs. A recumbent animal appears beneath a ritual standard or sacred emblem, characteristic of Mesopotamian glyptic iconography.
The semi-translucent agate displays natural banding and warm cream to light brown tonal variations. The engraved figures exhibit elongated proportions, tiered garments, horned headdresses, and symbolic attributes consistent with Neo-Assyrian and Neo-Babylonian visual vocabulary.
H: Approximately 3.8cm
