A Tibetan Carved Bone Ritual Figure with Wrathful Deity.
A carved bone figure depicting a standing wrathful deity, rendered in high relief along the front of a cylindrical form. The figure is shown with a fierce expression, wide eyes, and bared teeth, surmounted by a headdress incorporating a row of small skulls beneath a flared, flame-like crest.
The deity is adorned with beaded jewellery and draped garments, standing upon a lotus-form base with incised petal decoration. One arm is raised while the other rests across the torso, the composition framed by scrolling, flame-like motifs that continue around the sides.
The reverse is carved with flowing, abstract vegetal and flame patterns, contrasting with the more detailed figural front. The surface shows a rich variation of tones, from lighter worn areas to darker recessed sections, highlighting the depth of the carving.
