Lot 119: A Tibetan Bronze Figure of a Seated Deity...
A Tibetan Bronze Figure of a Seated Deity with Elephant Trunk Attribute.
A Tibetan bronze figure depicting a seated deity in a relaxed posture upon a tiered base, the body modelled with a pronounced rounded torso and gently defined limbs. The figure wears an elaborate headdress rising in a tiered form, with applied details across the crown and hair.
The face is softly cast with almond-shaped eyes, a slight smile, and rounded features, with traces of gilding remaining visible across the facial area and upper body. The right arm rests upon the knee, while the left hand supports a long, curved trunk-like attribute extending across the lap, terminating near the base.
The figure is adorned with simple jewellery including a necklace and armlets, while the drapery falls loosely across the body with minimal incised detailing. The base is stepped at the front with a central panel, giving the composition a grounded and architectural form.
