An Indian Mughal Style Bronze Lidded Box, 19th Century.
The bronze formed as a lobed, flower-shaped lidded box, the domed cover radiating in petal segments from a central knop. The surface throughout is densely decorated with repeating teardrop and foliate motifs arranged in neat registers, extending across both the lid and the sides.
The body follows the same scalloped outline, with each panel filled with finely incised ornament framed by simple borders. The interior divided into compartments, centred by a circular well.
