An Indian Bronze Group Depicting Figures with Elephant and Attendant Animal, 18th–19th Century.
The bronze cast as a small figural group, centred by a seated male figure riding an elephant, flanked by a standing attendant figure. The rider depicted with one hand raised to the face, wearing a simple headdress and necklace, seated upon the animal’s back.
The elephant modelled with stylised features and incised detailing to the head and ears, accompanied to one side by a smaller animal figure. The attendant stands beside the rider, similarly posed with one arm raised, dressed in simple attire with a hat.
