A Chinese Celadon-Glazed Double-Gourd Vase with Relief Decoration and Twin Handles.
A Chinese porcelain vase of double-gourd form, the lower bulbous body rising to a waisted midsection and a smaller upper register terminating in a short, flared neck. The body is moulded into lobed panels, each finely decorated in low relief with scrolling foliate motifs and stylised auspicious emblems.
The surface is covered in a soft celadon glaze of pale green tone, pooling slightly within the recessed decoration and accentuating the intricate patterning throughout. The shoulders are set with a pair of openwork handles formed as stylised mythical creatures, their bodies curling outward in a dynamic, symmetrical arrangement.
The base is of hexagonal form with an unglazed footrim revealing the underlying body, enclosing a six-character seal mark within.
