A Tibetan Gilt Bronze Figure of a Seated Bodhisattva Holding Lotus Stems.
A Tibetan gilt bronze figure depicting a seated bodhisattva in a cross-legged posture, the hands arranged in contrasting gestures—one lowered with the palm open, the other raised holding a lotus stem. The figure is adorned with an elaborate foliate crown and wears a necklace with circular pendants, the chest left bare.
Lotus stems rise symmetrically from either side of the shoulders, each terminating in a blossoming flower, adding balance to the composition. The face is finely modelled with downcast eyes, a gentle smile, and softly defined features, framed by elongated earlobes and stylised hair drawn into a topknot.
Traces of gilding remain visible on the face, hands, and sections of the body, contrasting with the darker bronze surface elsewhere. The lower garment is incised with simple linear detailing, flowing naturally over the crossed legs.
