A Tibetan Brass Gau Shrine with Repoussé Deity Panel.
A Tibetan brass gau shrine of rectangular form, the front centred with a raised repoussé panel depicting a seated deity mounted on a lion-like creature, enclosed within a circular halo and surrounded by stylised cloud and floral motifs.
The figure is shown in a dynamic seated posture, framed by scrolling ornament, with the relief work standing prominently against a textured ground. The front is bordered by a raised edge, forming a framed composition.
The sides are fitted with metal loops through which a cord is threaded, allowing the piece to be secured or suspended. The reverse is plain, with a warm, smooth surface contrasting the detailed front panel.
