Description
An Egyptian Stone Figure of Horus as a Falcon, Late Period–Ptolemaic Period Circa 664–30 B.C..
Carved in brown stone, this sculptural figure represents the god Horus in falcon form, shown standing upright on a rectangular plinth. The bird is rendered with a compact, forward-facing posture, its body simplified into smooth, rounded planes contrasted by incised linear detailing to the wings and tail feathers. The head is stylised with a hooked beak, almond-shaped eye, and a flat circular element atop the head, suggestive of a crown or symbolic attribute. A small pierced lug projects from one side of the body, possibly intended for suspension or attachment.
H: Approximately 7.5cm
Provenance: Private collection from a distinguished Danish collector.
