A Collection of Hantel ‘Victorian Miniatures’ Hand-Painted Porcelain Bear Figures, Made in Scotland.
A charming collection of hand-painted porcelain bear figures by Hantel, from their ‘Victorian Miniatures’ series, made in Scotland. The group features a variety of seated bears, including examples dressed with accessories such as a top hat and bow tie, bonnet and scarf, and others in simpler naturalistic form.
The bears are modelled with textured fur detailing and painted in warm brown tones, with expressive faces and individually styled features. Several retain their original Hantel tags attached by fine cords. Included within the group is a small ceramic jar labelled “HONEY, ” complementing the playful theme of the collection.
The figures vary slightly in size and pose, creating an appealing and decorative ensemble, with a mix of character-driven and traditional bear forms.
