A Chinese Blue and White Porcelain ‘Floral Scroll’ Bowl, Chenghua Mark.
A finely potted porcelain bowl of rounded form, rising from a short straight foot to a gently everted rim. The exterior is decorated in underglaze blue with continuous scrolling floral vines, issuing stylised blossoms and curling foliage, rendered in a soft cobalt tone with fluid brushwork. A double line band encircles the rim, framing the elegant design below.
The interior is plain, centred with a medallion enclosing a geometric floral motif composed of radiating elements, enclosed within double circles. The well and cavetto are otherwise undecorated, enhancing the balance of the composition.
The base bears a six-character underglaze blue mark reading “Da Ming Chenghua Nian Zhi” (大明成化年製) within double circles.
