A Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Vase with Pomegranate and Floral Decoration.
A Chinese porcelain vase of elegant baluster form, rising from a gently splayed foot to a slender neck and flared rim. The interior of the mouth is glazed in a vivid turquoise tone, contrasting with the white ground of the exterior.
The body is finely decorated with a continuous scene of fruiting pomegranate branches, intertwined with leafy stems and delicate blossoms. The pomegranates are rendered in shades of soft red and pink, some shown split open to reveal detailed seeds, accompanied by green foliage and brown twisting branches.
The reverse bears a vertical inscription in Chinese characters, accompanied by red seal marks. The base is glazed in turquoise and features a blue square seal mark within.
