A Chinese Yellow-Ground Famille Rose ‘Dragon’ Brush Pot.
A Chinese porcelain brush pot of cylindrical form, the straight sides rising from a flat base to a slightly everted rim, the interior glazed in a rich turquoise tone.
The exterior is finely decorated on a vibrant yellow ground with a continuous scene of green five-clawed dragons in dynamic pursuit of flaming pearls, interspersed with stylised clouds and flame motifs. The decoration is executed in famille rose enamels, with additional accents in red, pink, and white, creating a lively and richly coloured composition.
A decorative border of stylised ruyi-head motifs encircles the rim, while a band of waves and scrolling elements decorates the lower section above the foot. The base bears a neatly painted six-character mark in underglaze blue within a recessed turquoise ground.
