A Pair of Chinese Gilt-Decorated Foo Lions (Guardian Beasts).
A pair of cast figures modelled as stylised guardian beasts, each standing in an alert posture with open mouths revealing teeth and protruding tongues. The faces are expressive, with pronounced brows, flared nostrils, and curling moustaches highlighted in red.
The bodies are finished in a warm gilt tone, accented with red-painted details along the mane, limbs, and scrolling motifs across the shoulders and haunches. One figure is shown with a fuller, textured mane cascading along the neck, while the other presents a smoother form with similarly applied decorative elements.
