A Chinese Export Silver Tea and Water Set with Dragon Relief Decoration.
A matching Chinese white metal tea and water set, comprising a lidded teapot and a companion ewer, both of rounded baluster form.
Each vessel is decorated in relief with sinuous dragons in motion, their scaled bodies coiling dynamically across the surface, accompanied by stylised cloud motifs. The hammered ground provides a subtle textured contrast to the raised decoration.
The teapot features a domed lid with a finial, a long curved spout, and an angular handle, while the ewer is fitted with a shaped spout and a bamboo-form handle. Both pieces display circular cartouches engraved with the name “JEAN.”
The bases bear stamped marks, including “SILVER” alongside Chinese character marks.
