Attributed to Sir Alfred James Munnings (1878–1959), Jockey on Horseback.
Oil on board, depicting a jockey mounted upon a racehorse in an open landscape setting, the rider shown raising a riding crop whilst dressed in racing silks of red, black and white. Executed in a confident and fluid manner, with particular attention given to the musculature and stance of the horse.
Board size: 10 x 8 inches.

Sold as a work by Sir Alfred James Munnings at the Goodwood House Sale, 6 May 1977, conducted by King & Chasemore, Pulborough; purchased by Mrs E. H. Wendebank. Referenced in The Lyle Official Arts Review (1978). Accompanied by related photographs and publication material.
The reverse bears a manufacturer’s board stamp dating to 1913, consistent with Tate Museum reference material.
