An Anglo-Indian Bone-Inlaid Wooden Jewellery Box with Carved Panels
A rectangular Anglo-Indian wooden jewellery box, raised on small turned feet, with hinged lid and fitted interior. The exterior is decorated with finely inlaid geometric borders in bone, framing deeply carved wooden panels.
The lid features three circular reserves depicting figures in outdoor scenes, surrounded by dense scrolling foliage. The front panel is similarly carved with a continuous foliate design centred by a keyhole escutcheon. The sides continue the carved decoration, enclosed within intricate inlaid borders.
The interior is lined to the lid and fitted with a simple wooden compartment tray, offering practical storage.
