An Indian Mother-of-Pearl Inlaid Wood Panel, 20th Century.
Of rectangular form, the wooden body is richly inlaid with mother-of-pearl tesserae arranged in a repeating geometric lattice of interlocking diamond and star motifs. The iridescent panels display subtle tonal variations ranging from soft silvery whites to warm nacreous hues, creating a shimmering surface across the composition.
The central field is framed by a border of rectangular mother-of-pearl segments, enclosing the intricate geometric design. The reverse reveals a plain wooden backing with a warm brown tone and visible grain.
