A Japanese Bronze Model of a Praying Mantis.
Modelled in a naturalistic manner as a praying mantis in a low, forward stance, the elongated body detailed with segmented abdomen and finely textured wings resting along the back. The head is slightly raised with extended forelegs poised in a characteristic grasping position, while the rear legs are splayed for support.
