A Chinese Blue and White Porcelain ‘Dragon and Floral Scroll’ Bowl, Guangxu Mark.
A Chinese porcelain bowl of rounded form, supported on a short, neatly finished foot and rising to a slightly everted rim. The exterior is finely decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with a continuous scene of a sinuous five-clawed dragon striding amongst scrolling floral vines and blooming peony sprays.
The dragon is rendered with detailed scales, flowing whiskers, and an open mouth, its body coiling dynamically through the dense foliate ground. The rim interior is bordered with a repeating geometric band, while the interior well is centred with a medallion enclosing a stylised peony bloom surrounded by scrolling foliage.
The base bears a six-character underglaze blue mark reading “Da Qing Guangxu Nian Zhi” (大清光绪年制) within a double circle.
