A Chinese Famille Rose ‘Dragon’ Dish, Qianzheng Mark.
A finely enamelled porcelain dish of shallow, scalloped form with a gently lobed rim. The interior is richly decorated in famille rose enamels with a sinuous green dragon, shown in dynamic motion amidst scrolling lotus flowers and leafy tendrils, all set against a pale green ground. The cavetto is framed by a bold black-ground border with stylised geometric and floral motifs, enclosed by a pink enamelled rim adorned with delicate scrolling decoration.
The exterior is left predominantly white, punctuated by iron-red stylised flame motifs spaced around the body. The base features a turquoise-glazed ground with a square seal mark reading “Qianzheng Yuzhi” (Made for the Qianzheng Emperor), executed in underglaze blue.
