A Chinese Yellow-Ground ‘Dragon’ Bowl with Turquoise Interior, Yongzheng Mark.
A finely potted porcelain bowl of gently flaring form, raised on a short foot, the exterior decorated against a rich yellow ground with a vivid green dragon in pursuit of a flaming pearl amidst stylised clouds and flame motifs.
The interior is finished in a contrasting turquoise glaze, bordered at the rim with a narrow gilt line. The exterior decoration is executed in famille rose enamels, with detailed scaling to the dragon and soft polychrome cloud forms enhancing the composition.
The base bears a six-character underglaze blue mark reading “Da Qing Yongzheng Nian Zhi” (大清雍正年製), translating to “Made in the Yongzheng period of the Great Qing Dynasty.”
