Carved from a pale celadon jade of even tone, the piece is formed as a rectangular seal surmounted by a recumbent mythical beast. The animal is depicted crouching with its head raised, featuring rounded eyes, a slightly open mouth, and softly defined ears. Its body is adorned with flowing, scroll-like carvings along the flanks and back, creating a sense of movement across the otherwise compact form.
