Description
A Roman Ribbed Glass Unguentarium, Circa 1st–3rd Century AD.
Free-blown glass vessel of globular form with a short, constricted neck rising to a slightly flared rim. The rounded body encircled with applied horizontal ribbing, evenly spaced and subtly raised, creating a banded decorative effect.
The surface displays areas of natural weathering and iridescent encrustation in soft tones of pale gold, silver-grey, and muted earth hues, characteristic of prolonged burial.
