A Japanese Bronze Articulated Model of a Grasshopper.
The bronze cast in the form of a grasshopper, shown in a naturalistic crouching posture with elongated hind legs folded beneath the body. The slender thorax leads to a long, tapering abdomen, with finely defined wing cases laid neatly along the back.
The head is slightly lowered, with small curved antennae extending forward, and the legs are carefully modelled with jointed articulation.
