A Chinese Yellow-Ground Famille Rose Porcelain ‘Peach and Crane’ Bowl, Qianlong Mark.
A finely potted Chinese porcelain bowl of elegant, gently flared form, the exterior decorated on a vibrant yellow ground with scrolling branches bearing peaches and blossoms, rendered in soft famille rose enamels of pink and green. The design is delicately composed, with fruiting sprays extending fluidly across the surface.
The interior is glazed in a rich turquoise tone, centred with a roundel enclosing a crane standing beside a peach, set against a yellow ground and framed by a stylised border. The crane and peach motif symbolises longevity and auspicious blessings.
The base features a further peach motif enclosing a blue six-character Qianlong mark within a recessed circular panel, surrounded by a decorative band in pastel tones. The foot rim is neatly finished with a yellow-ground band and iron-red line.
