A Chinese Jade Carving of a Recumbent Mythical Beast.
Finely carved from a pale celadon jade of even tone with soft milky translucency, the figure modelled as a recumbent mythical beast with its head turned back over the body. The creature is depicted with a gently open mouth, rounded snout, and small ears, the body smoothly polished with subtle definition to the limbs tucked beneath. The tail curls elegantly along the side, terminating in a stylised scroll, while incised lines highlight the mane and tail details.
