A Chinese Cloisonné Enamel Double-Gourd Shaped Lidded Box with Lion Mask, Qianlong, 18th Century.
Of flattened double-gourd form, this cloisonné enamel lidded box is decorated in rich tones of turquoise, cobalt, red, green, and white. The front features a finely cast gilt-bronze lion mask, surrounded by dense scrolling lotus and foliage, with stylised key-fret motifs in black enamel. The reverse displays further floral scrolls centering a four-character Qianlong mark within a square cartouche, possibly indicating the period or origin of the piece. The sides are similarly adorned with multicoloured blossoms amidst scrolling vines on a turquoise ground.
