An Islamic Manuscript Depicting Mecca And Medina With Calligraphic Borders, Ink And Watercolour On Paper, 19th Century
A finely detailed manuscript composition featuring stylised depictions of Mecca and Medina arranged within a geometric panel layout. The Kaaba is prominently represented alongside architectural elements of the holy sites, with surrounding sections illustrating mosques, domes, and sacred structures rendered in a schematic manner. The central imagery is framed by a deep blue border filled with Arabic calligraphy, executed in elegant script. The surface is enriched with patterned fields, symbolic motifs, and carefully applied colour in tones of blue, gold, red, and earth pigments. Executed in ink and watercolour on paper.
