Jamini Roy (1887–1972), A Seated Woman in Profile, Watercolour on Paper.
A stylised depiction of a seated female figure rendered in the distinctive folk-inspired manner associated with Jamini Roy. The figure is shown in a contemplative pose, her head gently inclined and hand raised near the face. Executed with bold, fluid outlines and flat areas of soft colour, the composition features a restrained palette of cream, pink, and muted earth tones, accented by fine blue and red contour lines. The simplified facial features and curved forms emphasise rhythm and harmony, set against a plain ground with a minimal border. Mounted and framed.
