An Indian Jain Bronze Shrine with Seated Tirthankara, 19th Century.
The bronze cast as a portable Jain shrine centred with a seated Tirthankara figure in meditative posture upon a raised throne, hands resting in dhyana mudra. The figure is framed within an elaborate architectural arch, surmounted by a finial and flanked by numerous attendant figures arranged in tiered registers.
The surrounding structure richly adorned with small sculpted figures, devotional scenes, and animal motifs, all contained within a pierced and relief-work framework. The lower section supported by a stepped base incorporating further miniature figures and decorative panels.
The reverse engraved with Devanagari inscriptions across the arch and base panel.
